SHELTER FROM THE STORM FORMS NEW FUNDRAISING AUXILIARY

PALM DESERT: June 15, 2009 – Shelter From The Storm, the valley’s only provider of emergency shelter-based services for victims of domestic violence and abuse, has announced a newly-formed “Sheltering Sisters Auxiliary” to assist the nonprofit agency in its annual fundraising and community educational efforts.

New auxiliary officers are President, Maggie Montez; Vice President, Karen Moller; Secretary, Connie Golds and Treasurer, Suzie Harvey

Montez is senior vice president of CB Richard Ellis in Indian Wells. Moller is co-owner of Moller’s Garden Center in Palm Desert.  Harvey is former president and CEO of the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce.  Golds is an adjunct faculty member at the College of the Desert, teaching American Sign Language.  All have been active as volunteers and board members with local nonprofit organizations serving the community.

Shelter From The Storm serves some 3,000 Coachella Valley women and children annually through its 10 valley locations.
