Enjoying a special holiday Art & Tea fundraiser for Shelter from the Storm hosted by La Quinta artist Nancy Stanchfield at her home in the Hideaway, are (left to right) Hideaway resident Jorga Hicks, Nancy Stanchfield, Shelter Executive Director Lynn Moriarty and Hideaway resident Barbara Stenning.  Ms. Stanchfield donated 30 percent of proceeds from art sales to the nonprofit agency.

06/15/09- Shelter From The Storm, the valley’s only provider of emergency shelter-based services for victims of domestic violence and abuse, has announced a newly-formed “Sheltering Sisters Auxiliary” to assist the nonprofit agency in its annual fundraising and community educational efforts. 05/11/09- Shelter from the Storm will be the featured local charity on KPSP TV Ch 2’s “Coachella Valley Spotlight” through the month of June and will receive a $25,000 donation from the Berger Foundation as part of the station’s community service program. (more)

04/01/09- In these tough economic times when abuse rises and funding for charities falls, 12 valley bachelors walked the plank on Monday night in the big white Fashion Tent on El Paseo, and with the generous support of over 300 enthusiastic ladies, raised over $28,000 for a very worthy cause.
